About Hayward

Hayward, Wisconsin
is arguably Wisconsin's premiere get-away destination for people who love the great outdoors. We are famous for our hundreds of lakes with excellent fishing as well as thousands of acres of public forests which affords our students the opportunity to hike, bike, hunt, fish, ATV, in County, State and National Forests.

We want our students to not only learn about chainsaw carving, but also have a very enjoyable time. We want you to have fun by taking advantage of the exciting opportunities this area has to offer. We are home to the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame as well as the World Lumberjack Championships. In the wintertime, Hayward hosts the American Birkebeiner, the largest cross country ski race in North America.

Hayward is the perfect place to bring your family, so they can have a true Northwoods Vacation Experience, while Dad or Mom learns and exciting, fun, profitable profession. Lodging at resorts on fishing and swimming lakes is very popular. As a result, openings may be somewhat limited and prices are higher than other alternatives.

The Hayward Lakes Association makes arrangements for area resorts and hotels. You can also call them at (800) 724-2992.

We have negotiated special rates for students with many local lodging facilities.
